These transducers are specifically designed to work with Novotechnik’s LWH/TLH linear potentiometers. They provide a stable reference, measure the wiper signal ratiometrically, and quickly and precisely scale the actual measurement range in use. The result is PLC-compatible standard signals with minimal configuration and calibration effort.
Our MUW series transducers are adapter modules for the TLH and LWH series linear potentiometers and are integrated into the connector. They provide a stable 10 V reference voltage, sense the wiper signal with high impedance and in a ratiometric manner, and scale the actual measurement range using trimmer potentiometers. This provides you with reproducible 0–10 V, 0–20 mA, or 4–20 mA signals for PLCs—without the need for complex PLC scaling. This reduces commissioning times and supports short cycle times.
The following practical example illustrates this: In a clamping device, only a partial stroke of a linear encoder is used. The zero point and measuring range can be adjusted over a wide range using trimmer potentiometers, ensuring that the output precisely covers the desired range. Applications: Mechanical and plant engineering, handling/robotics, machine tools, test and measurement stands.
