Novotechnik's inductive position measurement systems are designed for applications that require fast, precise, and wear-free measurement results. Based on an extremely dynamic inductive measurement principle, these sensors enable the monitoring of motion without mechanical contact, ensuring a long service life while maintaining high speed and responsiveness.
The inductive linear sensor, based on Novopad technology, consists of a transmitter and receiver coil system mounted on a single circuit board within the sensor, as well as a separate, “floating” Position marker. This active Position marker energized by a high-frequency alternating field generated by the transmitter coil. Depending on the position, the Position marker inducesVoltage the receiving coil system. The sine/cosine structures of the receiving coil system are divided into a coarse and a fine track. The coarse track detects the approximate position of the position marker, while the fine track is used for high-precision position determination. The phase relationship of the measurement signals serves as a measure of the position encoder’s current position and is converted by the electronics into a linear position signal.
Inductive sensors are immune to magnetic fields and can be used in various environments that require dynamic position control. Their easy integration into existing systems and their potential to boost efficiency make them an advantageous choice for companies that want to stay one step ahead of the competition. They not only improve precision but also optimize the overall performance of manufacturing facilities by minimizing downtime and maximizing production rates.
